BigYap — Privacy Policy

BigYap collects no data.

BigYap is a private, on-device voice-to-text app. Recording and transcription happen entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your audio and transcripts never leave your device.

Microphone & speech recognition

BigYap uses the microphone to record your voice and Apple's on-device speech model to turn it into text. Audio is processed in memory and is not saved to disk or sent anywhere.

Your transcripts

Transcripts are stored only in the app's local database on your device. You can delete any transcript, or all of them, at any time from the History tab. Sharing or copying a transcript happens only when you choose to.

No network, no tracking

The app has no analytics, no advertising, no accounts, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. The only network activity is iOS itself downloading Apple's on-device speech model the first time it is needed.

Because BigYap collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, share, sell, or delete.
